Steps To Work

Is available to anyone aged 18 years or over who are not in employment. This programme provides work experience, training, qualifications and assistance to find permanent work.

Are you finding it increasingly difficult to find and keep a job? Daunted by the thought of returning to work?

The SOURCE Programme is available to:

  • Health benefit recipients and certain JSA claimants.
  • out of work partners of benefit recipients
  • people who are not claiming any benefits
  • young people not linked to the benefits system or engaged in employment, education or training
  • individuals who may have other barriers to work, such as homelessness, ex-offenders/ex-prisoners and people with a history of drug/alcohol misuse

What support will I receive?

We provide information, advice, guidance and practical help in:

  • motivation and self-confidence building
  • developing solutions to overcome barriers
  • looking at employment opportunities
  • finding the type of job you want
  • CV preparation and completing job application forms
  • job interview techniques
  • benefit advice on returning to work
  • provide information on issues such as childcare
  • career, training and educational opportunities
  • support when you are in employment
